History Tenuta Montenisa

Tenuta Montenisa is located in the heart of Franciacorta, around the village of Calino, a jewel of this sweet part of Italy, where ancient palaces, convents, abbeys and churches scattered in the green hills and morainic valleys have seen centuries of history pass by. Some claim that Franciacorta originates from Petite France, an affectionate name that Charlemagne gave it. The varieties that are traditionally grown on the estate are best suited to the production of Franciacorta. Chardonnay, with a typical aroma with floral and fruity notes, Pinot Noir, which gives structure and personality, Pinot Bianco, savory and mineral. The historic vineyards of the estate are located on the hill of S. Stefano: their precious grapes, with an intense aroma, give the wine complexity and balance. The most recent vineyards planted in a plot surrounded by a wall known locally as brolo, are destined to produce great grapes for a great wine. Under the arcades that delimit the estate complex of the estate there are the wine-making and aging cellars. Here, the wine in the bottle matures on the lees for long periods, higher than the minimum ones prescribed by the disciplinary. Remuage is still carried out, reserving the utmost attention to every single bottle. The result of this set of devices and winemaking processes are the perfect expression of the territory.torio.
