Strozzapreti are a short pasta shape similar to macarone and about an inch long and robust puff pastry, about a centimeter and a half high. Widespread in central Italy, especially in Umbria, Lazio, Marche up to Romagna. Present in areas that belonged to the Papal States. According to popular tradition, they owe their name to the gluttony of the clergymen of the priests in particular, who, it is said, also ate until they choked. The Strozzapreti are also mentioned in some well-known sonnets by Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli. I'm not tricolor, the photo is of an old product.tto.
