Ciaramicola is a typical dessert of Umbria now known throughout Italy and is prepared in the Easter period, it is very good and impossible to find outside the small pastry shops in the province of Perugia.
It is a cake, with a red dough thanks to the presence of Alchermes, in the shape of a donut covered with a white meringue and a shower of sugar sprinkles.
RECOMMENDED PAIRINGS:Ciaramicola is the perfect dessert to be dipped in milk and fortified wines or simply by itself. On Easter days it is traditional to taste it in combination with a chocolate egg.
