Egly-Ouriet Champagne, a dry extra-brut wine, with a crisp and clear mouthfeel, produced with 100% Pinot Noir grapes, sourced from Grand Cru vineyards located in the Reims Mountain region. The Egly-Ouriet vineyards are located in the northern part of the region, where the climatic conditions are particularly favorable for the production of high-quality grapes.

  • Process : After the harvest, the grapes are selected and delicately pressed to obtain the must. The must is then fermented in oak barrels for about 10 months, before being bottled. At this point, a special yeast is added to start the fermentation in the bottle, a process known as the "champenoise method". The wine is then aged in the bottle for at least 4 years before being marketed. The final result is a sparkling wine with a brilliant golden yellow color, with a fine and persistent perlage.
  • Characteristics : On the nose, fruity notes of peach, apple and citrus can be perceived, accompanied by floral notes of white flowers and acacia. In the mouth, the wine is dry and crunchy, with a long and pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
  • Pairings : The Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne by Egly-Ouriet is a high quality wine, produced with grapes of the highest quality and with great artisanal care. It is a refined and complex wine, ideal for accompanying fish, shellfish and white meat dishes, or to be enjoyed as an aperitif.

Maison Egly-Ouriet

The history of the Egly-Ouriet house dates back to 1930, when Francis Egly, the grandfather of the current owner, purchased some vineyards in the Ambonnay region of Champagne. The winery only began producing quality sparkling wines in the 1980s, under the guidance of Francis' nephew, Francis Egly-Ouriet, who had studied oenology and had gained extensive experience in producing wines in other wine regions of France. Francis Egly-Ouriet decided to focus on the production of high quality Champagne, using traditional techniques and respecting the high quality grapes coming from his own vineyards as much as possible. Over the years, the Egly-Ouriet house has consolidated its reputation as one of the most prestigious Champagne producers in the region, earning numerous recognitions and awards. Today, the Egly-Ouriet house is managed by Francis' son, Pierre Egly, who has continued the family tradition of producing sparkling wines of great refinement and complexity. The winery produces around 100,000 bottles per year, using only high-quality grapes from its own Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards located in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs.
