Born as a classic Bordeaux blend, its grapes come from the most suitable vineyards for its blend; the result is a remarkable wine that arises from a combination of characteristics that are rarely found: finesse, elegance, complexity, density, intensity, length and freshness.

  • Vinification : The grapes were carefully selected on the vibrating belt in the cellar. Destemming and soft pressing; alcoholic fermentation in truncated cone-shaped steel tanks for 3-4 weeks at 28°, malolactic fermentation in barriques for 15% of the mass, the remaining portion in steel.
  • Aging : The wine spent 15 months in French oak barriques, 85% new and the remaining part used for a year. The wine is aged for at least 6 months in the bottle before being sold.
  • Tasting notes : Intense ruby red in colour, it is characterized on the nose by intriguing notes of ripe red fruits, accompanied by hints of undergrowth scents. When tasted, the wine is full-bodied, but at the same time vibrant and fills the palate with its dense and elegant tannic texture, which closes in a persistent and beautifully crunchy finish.

Biserno Estates

The project began in 2001 when the brothers Lodovico and Piero Antinori together with their nephew Niccolo' Marzichi Lenzi (CEO of the company), son of their sister Ilaria, and their partner Umberto Mannoni, decided to give it life by starting to write the history of Tenuta of Biserno and Tenuta Campo di Sasso. Located in the municipality of Bibbona in Alta Maremma, it borders the historic village of Bolgheri to the north. The exceptional terroir, unique conglomerate of Bolgheri, the natural conditions, the exposure to the winds, the soil and the climate allow for very high quality vines, favoring the success of our wines by making them unique, authentic and recognisable. Tenuta di Biserno has an area of approximately 40 hectares and is located at 90 meters above sea level. The soils, mainly alluvial, clay-limestone, rich in calcium carbonate and pebbly, are mainly cultivated with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The influence of the sea in front and the different exposure is an integral part for the production of the two stylistic versions of: Biserno and Il Pino di Biserno.Tenuta Campo di Sasso has an area of approximately 56 hectares and a lower altitude. The soils are sandier and the climate is warmer during the summer months. These conditions are ideal for the cultivation of Syrah and Vermentino as well as other varieties of Bordeaux vines. The wines produced in this area are Insoglio del Cinghiale and Occhione.
