The Amarone Classico della Valpolicella DOCG "Corte Giara" by Allegrini is a high quality and prestigious red wine produced in the Valpolicella wine region. The Allegrini winery has a long tradition in the production of excellent wines and Amarone Classico is one of its most renowned products.

  • Method : It stands out for its particular production method and its unique characteristics. It is made using selected grapes, mainly Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara, which are harvested by hand and subsequently left to dry for a period of approximately 3-4 months. During this drying process, the grapes lose water, concentrating their sugars and natural aromas. This helps to give Amarone Classico a complex structure and intense character.
  • Fermentation and refinement : Once dried, the grapes are pressed and the must obtained is slowly fermented at a controlled temperature. This long fermentation process, which can last from 30 to 50 days, allows the tannins, aromas and intense colors present in the skin of the grapes to be extracted. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for at least two years, followed by a further period of refinement in the bottle before being marketed.
  • Characteristics : Allegrini's Amarone Classico della Valpolicella DOCG "Corte Giara" has an intense and deep ruby red color. On the nose, it offers great aromatic complexity, with notes of ripe red fruit, cherry, plum, and spicy hints of black pepper and cloves. There are also light notes of chocolate, tobacco and vanilla coming from the aging in wood. In the mouth, Amarone Classico is a powerful and full-bodied wine, with a robust structure and well-integrated tannins. Its natural sweetness combines harmoniously with lively acidity, creating a perfect balance. The flavors of ripe fruit blend with spices and extend into a long and persistent finish.
  • Pairings : This wine is ideal for pairing with structured and tasty dishes, such as roast meats, braised meats, game and mature cheeses. It can be appreciated straight away, but also has great aging potential, improving further with time.

Allegrini family

The Allegrini family has been a protagonist in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica since the 16th century and, since then, has handed down the culture of vines and wine. The company, counted among the most important landowning families, experienced a profound transformation starting from the 1960s with Giovanni Allegrini. Recognized as one of the major architects of the rebirth of Valpolicella, Giovanni perfected the art of winemaking, acting rigorously in the selection of grapes and introducing some important innovations in the viticultural and oenological fields. Since 2017, Allegrini has renewed its Biodiversity Friend certification, which recognizes the attention not only to the vines but also to the animals and insects that populate the countryside and their natural habitat. 2019 was instead the year of Equalitas, certification of sustainability of the supply chain with regards to the environment, society, economy, and which also involves the entire network of suppliers. In 2021, constant monitoring of water consumption in the vineyards and a carbon footprint traceability process was launched, which quantifies Co2 emissions with the aim of rationalizing them and possibly neutralizing them with other agronomic operations.
