The Rubesco red is perhaps the most representative wine of the Lungarotti winery, and comes from a blend ofSangiovese AndColorino with spurred cordon trained vines. The name of the label derives from the Latin verb“rubescere” which means to blush and has a convivial and joyful meaning, just like this bottle.
- Process : After careful selection of the grapes, the bunches are taken to the cellar and after the destemming the fermentation is started which will take place in steel containers with maceration on the skins for 15 days. The refinement takes place for a year in wooden barrels and for another year in the bottle after light filtration.
- Tasting : Rubesco wine is revealed in the glass with color ruby red of great vivacity. Nose complex and intriguing, it knows how to combine a fresher and more fruity aspect due to raspberry and wild strawberry, with richer and more delicious notes such as cinnamon, white pepper and tobacco. Secondly, refreshing and balsamic tones emerge. The sip is elegant and persuasive, perfectly balanced between softness and a good supply of freshness and flavor. An everyday wine with a remarkable quality-price ratio, it even knows how to reserve surprises with further refinement in the cellar.
- Pairings : For the whole meal, it is excellent with pasta and risotto, barbecues, roasted white and red meats and cheeses.
