This Hofstatter Chardonnay comes from those grapes grown within plots that are characterized by a mainly marly subsoil, subject to rapid heating. The bunches, after the harvest strictly manual, they are de-stemmed and the berries are lightly pressed, separating the residues from the must through precipitation. The must ferments in steel containers, and always in steel, the wine remains to mature for a few months on the lees, until the Hofstatter winery decides to proceed with the operations of mbottling .

  • Features : Straw yellow of good intensity, the nose expresses beautiful fruity notes embellished by continuous references to hints of golden apple. The good acidity, combined with a solid pulp and a decisive persistence, represents the right credentials to focus on the possibility of evolution of this wine and its ability to express itself at its best without bending for at least two years.
  • Pairings : Light appetizers, first courses with fish and second courses with white meat.

J.Hofstatter Cellars

For five generations our family has cultivated its vineyards on both sides of the Adige valley. Located in the heart of the historic village of Termeno, our estate stretches between the peaks of neighboring Trentino and the steep slopes of the Saar, in the Moselle wine-growing region of Germany. We combine tradition, pioneering spirit, respect for nature and innovation. We love what we do: we live the wine. The different terroirs and the different microclimates determine the character of our wines. For five generations we have been cultivating each grape variety where it can express itself at its best. Our owned vineyards extend on both sides of the Adige valley and at the end of the Ronchi Valley in Trentino. Since 2014, we have been producing our Rieslings in Moselle, the wine-growing area of Germany most suited to this noble variety in the world. Our vines have their roots on plateaus and hills at altitudes ranging between 250 and 850 meters. Depending on the slope on which they are located, the rows are reached by fresh mountain breezes or warm southern winds, by the morning or evening sun. Ours was the first South Tyrolean company to put the vineyard on the label, identifying the wines that come from individual vineyards, in the most suitable particles.e.
