The Ripasso Valpolicella DOC Corte Giara Allegrini is a red wine produced in the Valpolicella region, by the Allegrini winery, a renowned producer of high-quality wines with a long-standing tradition in the Valpolicella region.

  • Method : After fermentation of the base Valpolicella, the wine is "passed" on the skins of the grapes used to produce Amarone, another famous Valpolicella wine. This review process gives the wine greater structure, depth and complexity. The Ripasso Valpolicella DOC Corte Giara Allegrini is produced with native Valpolicella grapes, mainly Corvina Veronese, Corvinone and Rondinella. These grape varieties give the wine unique and distinctive characteristics. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand to ensure the best possible quality.
  • Characteristics : Ripasso Valpolicella DOC Corte Giara Allegrini has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a complex and enveloping aromatic bouquet, with notes of ripe cherry, plum, sweet spices and a light note of vanilla. In the mouth it is full and soft, with a pleasant freshness and an elegant structure. The tannins are well integrated and the wine has a long persistence.
  • Pairings : It is a versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of dishes. It goes perfectly with cured meats and mature cheeses, but can also be paired with grilled red meats, braised meats, pasta with meat sauce and mushroom-based dishes. It can be enjoyed young, but also has aging potential that allows the wine to develop further complexity and maturity over time.

Allegrini family

The Allegrini family has been a protagonist in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica since the 16th century and, since then, has handed down the culture of vines and wine. The company, counted among the most important landowning families, experienced a profound transformation starting from the 1960s with Giovanni Allegrini. Recognized as one of the major architects of the rebirth of Valpolicella, Giovanni perfected the art of winemaking, acting rigorously in the selection of grapes and introducing some important innovations in the viticultural and oenological fields. Since 2017, Allegrini has renewed its Biodiversity Friend certification, which recognizes the attention not only to the vines but also to the animals and insects that populate the countryside and their natural habitat. 2019 was instead the year of Equalitas, certification of sustainability of the supply chain with regards to the environment, society, economy, and which also involves the entire network of suppliers. In 2021, constant monitoring of water consumption in the vineyards and a carbon footprint traceability process was launched, which quantifies Co2 emissions with the aim of rationalizing them and possibly neutralizing them with other agronomic operations.
