Agricola Collemassari

Founded in 1989 on the south-eastern side of Montalcino, it has become part of the ColleMassari family since 2011. It extends for 44 hectares of which 16 are Brunello vineyards and 4 hectares are olive trees. The vineyards extend along a hill from 200 meters up to 400 meters above sea level. Protected by Mount Amiata, open to sea breezes, the property enjoys an important microclimate. The land is trained with spurred cordon, with a yield of 30-35 quintals per hectare due to a very strict selection of the grapes. The selection and harvest takes place manually. Spontaneous fermentations take place in 70 hl truncated cone wooden vats, with long macerations and frequent pumping over. Aging takes place in 30 hl Slavonian oak barrels, from 24 months for the Rosso, 42 months for the Brunello to 52 months for the Riserva. A period of bottle refinement follows. The company follows the criteria of organic cultivation.
