Defined as a captivating wine, more than anything else Lazzarito strikes for its magnificent depth and "stature". Super ripe red fruit, white pepper, mint, tobacco, cured meats, spices and rose petals gradually open up in the glass.
Characteristics Intense garnet red colour. On the nose it is fascinating and deep. Notes of hay, cut grass, tobacco, white pepper and wild mint are perceived. On the palate it is robust, muscular, with a tense and mineral finish. The tannin is typical of Serralunga, angular, austere and very deep. The sweet persistence on the finish is pleasant.

Vietti origin

The Vietti winery, located in the heart of the Langhe, on the top of the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, was founded at the end of the 19th century by Carlo Vietti. Although wine producers for four generations, the turning point came at the end of 1950 when Luciana Vietti married the oenologist and art appreciator Alfredo Currado, whose intuitions - from the creation of one of the first Barolo Crus (Rocche di Castiglione - 1961) , passing through the pure vinification of Arneis (1967), up to the invention of Etichette d'Autore (1974) – make it both an icon and creator of some of the most significant revolutions of the time. His intellectual, professional and prospective legacy was collected in the early 1980s by his son-in-law Mario Cordero and subsequently, starting from 1989, also by his son Luca Currado Vietti together with his wife Elena. With their commitment and vision they have contributed to the further success and growth of the Vietti brand, now universally recognized among the best Italian wine labels. Vietti continues on the path of research for quality, respect for tradition and careful experimentation. In 2016 the historic winery was acquired by the Krause family. This has allowed us to expand the estate's vineyards by adding several renowned crus both in the Barolo and Barbaresco areas and therefore to be able to look to the future with even more promising and stimulating prospects, whilst maintaining the approach, culture and values for which Vietti has always been known. Attention is paid to the production of wines that are the result of understanding and exalting the individual terroir as a starting point for a unique and extraordinary quality, as well as a philosophy of artisanal and non-invasive work both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Vietti wines are currently distributed in more than 60 markets worldwide, exclusively through a network of top-tier wine agents, importers and distributors who sell only to quality restaurants, wine bars and hotels, as well as specialty retailers.
