Gaston Chiquet's "Tradition" Premier Cru Champagne comes from grapes of the famous Premier Crus of Hautvillers, Dizy, Mareuil sur Ay, vinified separately and then assembled with great harmony. After a rest of at least 30 months on the yeasts it expresses itself with elegance, good complexity, freshness and great balance.

Characteristics This cuvée is representative of the terroirs in which it is grown. The color is light gold, the smell of dried fruit (apricot...). It has a good melting in the mouth where the typical aromas of the smell are found. Of good length.

A classic French bubble, where the balance between grapes and terroir is admirable. Ideal to consume throughout the meal.

Gaston Chiquet

A family history, that of the Gaston Chiquet company. Eight generations have followed each other since Nicolas CHIQUET planted his first vine in 1746. In 1919 the brothers Fernand & Gaston CHIQUET – professional winemakers – joined forces to create their commercial house CHIQUET Frères. They were « pionniers » in Champagne, the first winemakers to take a bold initiative for the time: to look at their grapes, work them in the champenois method and then market the wine. In 1923, they obtained their first medal in PARIS then their « médaille d'or » in EPERNAY. In 1935 the brothers separated and Gaston CHIQUET created his own brand. A few years later Gaston and his son Claude extended the family dominion over the terroirs of Ay and Hautvillers. Thus they have new assembly possibilities, an essential art in the elaboration of Champagne. In turn, in 2003, Antoine and Nicolas CHIQUET ensure continuity in compliance with ancestral rules: «Our essential objective is to guarantee the quality requirements of which we are the heirs». Even though the techniques have improved, the tradition remains.
