Livio Felluga Rosé is a new way to represent the terroir where it is born. It represents a unique character, as does the Livio Felluga style. The creation of Rosé is part of the long series of innovations that the well-known winery has introduced over time. In the wake of Livio Felluga, this has never happened to shy away from tradition, but rather taking inspiration from it to make it contemporary and always alive.

  • Characteristics : The color of this wine is bright salmon pink. On the nose it is intense, fine and very elegant. Floral fragrances of wild rose and azalea alternate with fruity notes of currant, raspberry, wild strawberries and pink grapefruit. A clear trace of mineral and iodine matrix is embellished with a pleasantly balsamic finish. With a full and harmonious taste. In the mouth it surprises with the great balance between flavor and softness. Characterized by sweet hints of white pulp fruit. Of excellent persistence, it closes with a pleasant aftertaste of blood orange.
  • Pairings : To be enjoyed as an aperitif, it pairs perfectly with both iodized and spicy foods. It can accompany oysters, spaghetti with bottarga and sea urchins, chicken tikka masala, sea asparagus, or more simply fresh goat's cheese.

History Livio Felluga

It is easy to understand how the story of Livio Felluga and his wine is intertwined with the history of that particular land surrounding the extreme north-east of the Adriatic, the point of contact between the Mediterranean and central Europe. History of borders that have changed several times, disappeared empires, past wars... of people who stopped here. It is the story of a man who lived through two world wars, lived in the Austro-Hungarian Empire first and then in the young Kingdom of Italy, lived on the rocky coast of the Istrian peninsula and in the lagoon Grado. Livio Felluga moved to Friuli at the end of the 1930s, to settle on the gentle spurs of the Rosazzo hills. His dream of producing hill wine was interrupted by the call to the front. As if that wasn't enough, the return to Italy was not easy for the veterans of the Second World War: the physical, political and ethnic borders had changed, distorted forever, like the agricultural and social landscape of the hill itself. The peasant population was leaving, further impoverishing the land and abandoning the crops, values and traditions linked to it. Livio Felluga had to undertake a new battle to resurrect the hill, convinced that only the rebirth of quality cultivation could bring life back to the Friulian countryside. With great courage he began to restore the ancient Rosazzo vineyards and plant new ones, introducing innovative ideas and methods. Hard work, undertaken with great stubbornness and passion which over the years will lead him to create one of the most beautiful and significant corporate realities in the Bel Paese, rightfully acquiring the title of re-founder of the Friulian wine-growing tradition and a key player in the Italian wine renaissance .
