The vine, of French origin, was introduced in Friuli during the Habsburg domination and was disclosed in the early 1900s. Livio Felluga's Sauvignon is the finest expression of the vine on the terroir of the Friulian hills. A tribute to its hills is the famous geographical map label with which Livio Felluga has conquered the favor of the world, telling the story of an Italy that knew how to believe in the power of the hills when it was the factories that attracted workers, transmitting to its children and its bottles, the love for the land and the passion for wine.o.

  • Features : The Sauvignon DOC 2019 "Livio Felluga" is a fresh and captivating wine, with unmistakable and multiple aromas in which notes of exotic fruit, yellow pepper, tomato leaves, mint, lantana and box are highlighted. It is a wine of the Friulian tradition that comes with acolor straw yellow with slight green reflections; full, bright and fresh. Thescent it is intense, typical, elegant and articulated.
  • Tasting : The richness of aromas highlights the fruit with black currant, passion fruit, white melon; flowers with lantana, elder flowers, orange blossom; spices with chilli and ginger; and freshness with lemon grass, oregano, marjoram and mint leaves. The varietal notes of boxwood and tomato leaf are combined with slight citrus hints of lime and grapefruit. The taste is broad, fresh, rich and balanced. The complexity of the aromas finds excellent correspondence on the palate. Hints of lime and sage blend with an explosion of tropical fruit and ripe fruit. Great freshness, pleasant flavor and balanced acidity. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes very well with asparagus, vegetable soups, pureed legumes and marinated fish.
  • Pairings : A versatile wine, which goes well with appetizers, but also with fish-based dishes. I am in an area where it is easy to pick wild asparagus, which cooked with fresh eggs, find their worthy companion in this fresh and decisive wine just like them.

History Livio Felluga

It is easy to understand how the story of Livio Felluga and his wine intertwines with the history of that particular land that surrounds the far north east of the Adriatic, the point of contact between the Mediterranean and central Europe. History of borders that have changed several times, empires that have disappeared, past wars ... of people who have stopped here. It is the story of a man who went through two world wars, lived first in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and then in the young Kingdom of Italy, and lived on the rocky coast of the Istrian peninsula and in the Grado lagoon. Livio Felluga moved to Friuli in the late 1930s, to settle on the gentle buttresses of the Rosazzo hills. His dream of producing hill wine was interrupted by the call to the front. As if that were not enough, the return to Italy was not easy for the veterans of the Second World War: the physical, political and ethnic boundaries had changed, distorted forever, like the agricultural and social landscape of the hill itself. The peasant population was leaving, further impoverishing the land and abandoning crops, values and traditions linked to it. Livio Felluga had to undertake a new battle to revive the hill, convinced that only the rebirth of quality cultivation could bring life back to the Friulian countryside. With great courage he began to restore the ancient vineyards of Rosazzo and plant new ones, introducing innovative ideas and methods. A hard work, undertaken with great stubbornness and passion that will lead him over the years to create one of the most beautiful and significant business realities of the Belpaese, fully acquiring the title of re-founder of the Friulian viticultural tradition and reference actor of the Italian wine renaissance .
